Q: When and why did you start making Waking Amy?

Around march\april of this year, we decided to start developing Waking Amy. It just seemed like the next thing we should do after doing internships and Game Jams together.

Q: Was there any inspiration for the game?

We are inspired by the great platformers of the PS1 era and by many indie games. As for a particular "spark" that started Waking Amy development, it mostly started with the idea that the main character would be unconscious and the player's end goal would be to wake her.

Q: Was the main character, Amy, made/modeled after anyone in particular?

Nope ;).

Q: Has your studio worked on any other games before Waking Amy?

Yes, we got into game development mostly through our flash games, "Kitty Katnip" and "SkullBoy". We had to take a hiatus as internships became the top priority. We made a few simulations (luckily together) and gained the experience neccessary to handle Waking Amy's scalability.

Q: When do you expect to release your game?

If adequate funding is reached, March, 2014.

Q: Are you looking to make any other games in the future?

We would love nothing more than to make games for the rest of our lives, but so far we're working on a budget of $0.00. We don't have the time or resources to do all of this without community support such as this interview :).

Q: What brought you into the gaming industry?

We've been avid gamers our whole lives, but our jump into the game design industry was accelerated by the "Game Jam" events. We highly recommend everyone who wants to get into developing games to attend\host a local Jam if you can; just google "Global Game Jam".

Q: Have you ever thought of releasing your game on Steam and Desura, etc?

We will be steam greenlighting soon!

Q: Do you have any idol Game Devs?

We love MOST of the devs from "Indie Game Dev: The Movie".

Q: What is expected to be added to Waking Amy once you get further into the development process?

We want to make all kinds of cool content for this game but it will depend highly on budget.  At the least, there will be 3 "dream worlds" with 3-5 levels each. In particular, we really can't wait to implement more puzzles that incorporate the z-axis.

Q: Could you maybe give us a few ideas as to what powers Amy might have in the future?

We don't want to release everything yet, but expect Amy to fuse with all kinds of creatures from her past.

Q: Is there anything that you would like to say to the fans?

None of this could be possible without you guys, we can not thank you enough! Let's keep spreading the word so we can reach our goal by Sept 1st!

Q: Are there any social media networks that our readers can like/follow?

Sure thing!
