Q: When did you start working on this game and what was the inspiration for making Monochroma?

It's 19 months since we started to work as a team. We wanted to tell a story and thought that a game would be a good medium to make it happen.

Q: What was your main reason for making this game in the 1950s?

We're criticizing the consumer society in our own way. Our story takes place in alernate version of 1950's. The world didn't witness the world wars but they invented robots to help people at their homes and befriend their children. This speeded up the transition to the consumer society that we're living in today.

Q: Who is working at your studio, Nowhere Studios?

We're 10 people at the studio but there are some other contributors that work from different places, such as 2 people from US, 1 from Hungary and we have our sound&music people working as vendors.

Q: Has your studio made any other games before Monochroma?

We found the studio to make Monochroma but we have some other projects left from our older jobs, so yes we have a game called "Oyna Turka" on facebook, an ottoman-steampunk themed bubble shooter and solitaire game. Monochroma is the kind of game that we all want to develop and we will probably stick with indie games from now on.

Q: Are you working on any other games at the time?

We're focused on Monochroma as much as we can right now.

Q: Do you plan to make any other games in the future?

We want people to have an intellectual and emotional satisfaction through games. As if they read a good story or watched a nice movie. So yes, we will make more games like this if Monochroma can proove that there is demand for such games.

Q: Have you thought about putting Monochroma on Steam or Desura, or
anything like that?

We're already doing great on Steam Greenlight currently. We're doing pretty good but just go and vote for us to speed it up. We will on all major platforms when the game is ready on December.

Q: Do you plan on going to any conventions, such as Pax Prime or E3?

We have been in GDC San Francisco and we're going next week to GDC Europe. We'll try to show up in organization as much as we can. We need exposure than anything else right now.

Q: Did you ever dream about becoming a game developer?

Well I always dreamed about becoming a game designer but I became a producer, close enough :)

Q: What brought you into the game development industry?

Well I can answer this personally I assume. I had an Atari 2600, a bucket full of Lego's and a chess board but no other toy as a 3 year old kid. I guess this was a plot written by my dead.

Q: Do you have any idol game devs or companies?

Klei and Taleworlds. Klei because of their consistency at making good games, Taleworlds because they made Mount & Blade in a time where there were no game developers in Turkey. It's like making a spaceship in the stoneage.

Q: What platforms will Monochroma be released on?

We're going to port the game to as many platforms as we can. After our launch in December 2013 for PC (Windows, Mac, Linux) we will start working for consoles.

PC launch is expected to be on all major platforms such as:
-Steam
-Desura
-Origin
-Amazon
-Gamer's Gate

Expected launch dates on consoles:

-March 2014: PS4
-May 2014: Wii U
-July 2014: Xbox One (Not confirmed yet)

-Late 2014: Lighter devices such as, PS Vita, Ouya, Nvidia Shield and Razor Edge
(There is a challenge awaiting for us in this category, we can not currently guarantee if we can optimize the game for these consoles but we will do everything we can)
