Mark of the Ninja is a great indie game, made by Klei Entertainment. It is a stealth-RPG-sidescroller sort of thing. Think Dishonored but in 2D. The amazing thing about this game is that the only way to kill people is by a take down. Whether it be behind them, under them, over them, anything, you just can't kill them by running in and swinging your sword, you have to kill them without them noticing you. There is a combat system however, and you can use it to knock enemies onto the ground, and from that position you can kill them.

The environments in Mark of the Ninja are also very nice. It ranges from a big, dark, gloomy city to a run down car junkyard filled with traps and bombs. The artwork is just like Shank and Shank 2, but the game itself is nothing like it. The characters are very well made, and the emotions that they show are great. The jumping and effects in the game are also nice, and the gore is just right.

The gadgets and upgrades that you can get in this game are amazing, and the variety is great as well. The gadgets include a spike mine, bugs that will eat people alive, smoke bombs, and even a cardboard box (MGS reference anybody?). You can also learn a variety of upgrades and skills, sometimes you can learn new ways to kill people, like hanging from a chain and putting their dead body on the chain that you were once on, spin kicks that send people up in the air, takedowns from inside a vent, and more!

The types of enemies in this game are also great, snipers, normal enemies, big giant brutes, dogs, ninja-enemies, special bosses, the list goes on. Jumping from one ledge to another is also awesome, and it feels so cool when you jump down and then chain onto another ledge with your chain!

I've only beaten the first two world-type areas in this game, and there's even more for me to experience. This game is chalk-full of content, and there is DLC out already, so if I were you, I'd grab a copy. Definitely worth checking out. If I had to give it a number out of ten, I'd give it a perfect 10/10, this game is great. Be sure to check out their steam page below!
